The Club Championships

The Club Championships are run every year and have done since the club began, with extra races being added over the years.

The main Championships are run over three nights they cover all the strokes and give the swimmers a chance to swim races of different lengths for each stroke (the 9 and under swim 25m and 50m and the 10 and over 50m and 100m, plus the 100m and 200m Individual Medley for all swimmers).  A swimmer therefore has the chance to swim 10 races.

Entry Forms:    Main Club Championships    Long Distance Club Championships

The Long Distance Club Championships run on Fridays and Sundays, starting in September, these are run early due to the time required to swim the races.  These races are divided into 2 age-groups, 12 and under and 13 and over. They consist of the following races:

  • 200m Butterfly
  • 200m Backstroke
  • 200m Breaststroke
  • 200m Freestyle
  • 400m Freestyle
  • 800m Freestyle
  • 1500m Freestyle

Squad swimmers are eligible to enter all races, Hour+ swimmers can enter the 200m and 400m Freestyle.

The Championships are a licensed meet which enables the results to be included in the Swim England ranking, the benefits are:

  1. To swim at the County Championships you have to make the qualifying time in a licensed meet.
  2. The county team manager uses the rankings list when picking the county team.
  3. The swimmers can see how they rank against other swimmers by County, Region or Nationally.
